I recently read and heard stories regarding Fr. Mike Lightner and his Great love of our Blessed Mother. To my surprise HE BROUGHT OUR LADY WITH HIM! I was just Shocked and overwhelmed to see a Beautiful rendition of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A full size replicate of Our Blessed Mother grazing our campus in Milwaukee. What an inspiration for our college youth to have a Priest that gives reverence to Our Mother. The concrete statue of over 800 pounds was first placed at the Guadalupe Chapel in Oconto, WI.
During the 1900's migrant workers from Mexico built a large Shrine & Chapel to give thanks to Our Lady. Years had pasted as Corliss & Joyce Lighter as trustees and the directors of the Guadalupe Chapel, gave that same statue to their son the Priest with the intent to always keep Her in pubic view. With Fr. Lightner's new assiment @ the Newman Center it's about to change.
